Eating Disorders: Break Free
The Break Free Pilot Program is for ages 19 and up and is by self referral.
Services:
- One-to-one counselling for Anorexia, Bulimia, Compulsive Overeating, Disordered Eating and related co-curring issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse etc.
- Educational workshops and events
- Referral services
- Resources pertaining to the eating disorder-disordered eating spectrum
The eating disorder spectrum includes but is not limited to:
- Compulsive overeating
- Binge eating
- Bulimia
- Anorexia
- Purging (such as excessive exercise, vomiting, spitting, laxative abuse)
- Frequent dieting
- Excessive exercise
- Unhealthy body-image, self-esteem, an/or low self-worth
- Anxiety, depression, or trauma
By accessing program services you can find support to:
- Gain insight to heal the core issues related to eating disorders and disordered eating behaviour,
- Develop an understanding to accept and love you for who you are,
- Diminish food and weight preoccupations so you have time for other things that are important in your life.
- Transform the “diet mentality” and eat more naturally,
- Rediscover a healthy relationship with exercise
- Find other support services to compliment your healing journey
Whether you struggle with compulsive overeating, under-eating, or binging and purging, body-image issues, or low self-worth there is help and support available to you.
Counselling:
One-to-one counselling is available to anyone regardless of income status. Counselling fees are on a sliding scale and can be as little as FREE. Healing Your Body from the Inside Out – Education/Support Workshop Series:
Healing the Body from the Inside Out is a FREE 12-week educational/support pilot program with no geographical restrictions for registrants. This workshop is currently running – Wednesdays’ starting July 6 – Sept. 21, 2011 from 6:30-8:30pm. Next workshop details here.
