Women’s Anger Group
Soothing the Storm
There are times when life seems unfair and there appear to be many blocks stopping you from doing what you really want to do. You may react by yelling and screaming, sulking or maintaining your cool, feeling depressed, or maybe insulting or blaming. However, chances are your method did not improve your life. By gaining greater clarity about your feelings and expectations, and using these to move forward, you can use your energy to take new and different actions on your own behalf.
Soothing the Storm is a 20 hour workshop dealing with anger, during which women will have the opportunity to explore their feelings; to listen to the messages these emotions bring; and to learn ways to take care of themselves. With the group’s support, you will be encouraged to accept responsibility for yourself and to claim your power to influence your thoughts, feelings and actions.

Men’s Anger Group
Taming the Volcano
This group is designed to help men use their anger in a more positive way. Rather than hurt themselves (resulting in depression and/or apathy) or hurting others (verbally, physically, sexually) they will create new “tools” that can enrich their relationships and improve their quality of life. The group is done in a supportive yet challenging, and confidential, setting so as to maximize the potential for making important changes.
A separate 2 session group for the women of these men is offered. This separate group helps the women to support each other and learn how to make positive changes in their lives. With both the men and women learning some of the same skills, existing relationships have really improved!
Process: psycho-educational model. A group process is encouraged. Topics include: boundaries, identifying the expectations and primary feelings that lead to anger, couple and family relationships, communication, attitude toward self, and father-son relationships.
