ADHD/ADD: A Challenge & Gift

Neurodiversity adds challenges to the person and their relationships, especially in intimate relationships. And, they offer gifts to all who would appreciate them as individuals.

The quote above applies to all of us, regardless of our neurology. To truly get to know ourselves and one other is a wondrous moment of discovery and illumination. This is just as true when getting to know oneself or another who is neurodiverse.

Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is not a "disorder." It is different, one that is frequently judged and/or shamed, creating even greater problems for the one living with ADHD. The same is true of those who are ADD.

Females often present these differently to males. Children affected by either are frequently misunderstood, and judged. A lot!

Consequently these more often struggle in relationships, especially intimate ones (such as marriage and in families), even though they bring diverse gifts such as being able to think outside of the box, being creative, recognising patterns, having passions, and more.

If you or your partner may be identified with ADD/ADHD do consider working with Ian Gartshore, who has both training and experience in this growing field. This could be a gift to you both!
